As such, I speak, read and write both English and Dutch on a daily basis. My writing endeavours take place within academic, creative and social context, so I am eager to work on a wide variety of projects. Beyond this, I own a one-man company, WordWright, which is the result of my New Year's resolution for 2018. My goal was to turn my work as a translator into my primary source of income and creating this small business was my first step towards achieving that. I am a native Dutch translator, authorized by the the State Judiciary of Quintana Roo, Mexico and registered at the Dutch Embassy in Mexico. The past two years I have especially worked on legal translations such as personal and academic documents, notarial deeds, powers of attorney, agreements, and deeds of incorporation. However, I frequently translate website and social media content, including e-learning and e-commerce content, general website features, and instructions and privacy statements. Although technical translations are not my specialty, I have worked on numerous user guides and manuals for technical devices as well.

I am an established phone interpreter for a globally recognized company. I have extensive movie translating and subtitling experience, along with varied translation work in many types of manuals (including multiple fields). I have worked as a Senior Dutch proof-reader for an international company too. Through the years I have made translations of various texts for agencies worldwide as well as directly for end clients. I have also worked as a translator/ international correspondent for Tyco Valves & Controls (pumps and valves industry), from 2005 through 2009, and for Hero Breda (food industry), from 1992 through 1996. In these jobs I learnt a lot about the translation of technical and practical subjects and natural sciences. I now combine my love for and knowledge of these subjects with my love for languages and translation. I developed a taste for the literary genre as well: since 2012 I have worked closely with a publishing company, called ClusterEffect, and have translated several novels, both fiction and non-fiction. I work as a freelance translator since 2005 (full-time from 2005 to 2008 and since 2017) and have worked as an internal translator for a translation agency in the meantime (from 2008 to 2017). Before that, I worked in customer service jobs for several companies in different industries (marketing, leasing, etc.)
