I have been working as a freelance translator for the past 21 years. I do not own a university degree in translation/interpretation, but the multitude of translation projects I have worked on over the years has done more for my capacity as a translator than any degree could have ever done. Though French is my mother tongue, I have spent the last 21 years living both in French and English (my partner is an American citizen). As a translator, I am both thorough and efficient, and I always meet my deadlines. I also believe that my work with the French Foreign Affairs, carried out through assignments of 2 to 3-year terms in various posts around the world (El Salvador, the United States, France, The Netherlands, Latvia, Switzerland and now Monaco) constitutes a definite asset for this position. My experience in the field of diplomatic relations means that I am already used to working in an international environment, in foreign countries, and with people of different backgrounds/cultures.

I'm a French native speaker from Brussels, Belgium (born in 1981). I live in the US since 1994 and I'm working as a Translator/Proofreader -French (France and Belgium), English (UK/US), Spanish (Spain/Latin America/US), some Italian to English (2007-present) and French, and Consecutive Interpreter - French, English, Spanish (2009-present) - currently in NY. For certain advanced/expert translation, I'm more comfortable translating into English. I hold an Associates of Arts degree from Westchester Community College and a Masters of Arts and Bachelors of Arts in Spanish, with a Minor concentration/specialisation in Italian from Iona College, Cum Laude ( similar to with distinction or with honours mention). I'm a Candidate in the Spanish to English Translation Programme at NYU CPS (NY University School of Continuing and Professional Studies) to earn my Translation Certificates and pursuing continuing adult education/professional translation studies at Translation and Interpreter Training at International School of Linguists and other companies. I also hope to become an accomplished author/writer and poet.

I majored in Accounting and Business Administration at a great college in Madagascar. Then, I worked for two months for a private cabinet as an intern accountant. I also have an English Language Certificate from an institution linked to the United States Embassy here, following 3 years of courses. I master English orthography, grammar, syntax, and vocabulary. Additionally, I’ve been working as a translator, interpreter and proofreader in an association for 5 years now. We receive articles and videos from our Headquarters in the United States in English, and translate them into Malagasy. We deal life stories, dramatizations, nature descriptions, reports, medical information, songs, and Bible-based counsels for every category of people. My French level is also excellent since I learned French as a second language. I currently work with some associates, and we offer freelance services: Translation, Writing and Transcription. My name is David. I am a French native speaker translator. As an expatriate, I am constantly dealing with different languages and culture. I have a long experience in Learning and development area, working in a Corporate environment and in Global teams. My main activity was trainer/consultant however it included translating content from HR world (communications, training materials, processes, support materials) but also from other areas: gaming, technical instructions for industry, health and safety, travelling, health, blog article, organisation of events, financial reports from NGO... I don't translate word-by-word but I make sure the final product reflects customer's culture and environment. I write sentences as the native French would speak. I guarantee availability, professionalism, flexibility and on time delivery.
