My name is Guido Ballarini, I have 15 years of experience in the field as translator/editor from English to Italian and Italian proofreader. My mother tongue is Italian and I have lived for over 9 years in the United States and for 5 of these years I worked as a full-time in-house translator from English to Italian. In this period I honed my translator and CAT user skills to a very high level. I also have several years of experience as project manager, having run translation projects for over a dozen of languages for almost 3 years. Since 2007 I am a Freelance translator with hundreds upon hundreds of jobs completed and over 2 millions of words translated for a total of 15 years of experience in the field. I am a proficient user of TRADOS and Wordfast and I have completed a big project on SmartCAT so I can use it professionally too.

I'm a Computer Science university student, science & tech enthusiast, hobbyist musician (I play electronic keyboards), scout leader, ttRPG player, gamer and professional nerd :D I'm an Italian native speaker and a B2 level english speaker. I've always been passionate about video game translation and localization, often working to create or improve translations for games I play and love. At this point I've been doing it for over 7 years as a hobbyist and 2 years as an online freelancer and I've gained some experience in the field. I started my career 21 years ago as in-house translator and PM at a translation agency based in Turin, Italy. After three years, I decided to take up the challenge and become a freelancer, in order to devote myself to those texts I was most interested in.
