My name is Guido Ballarini, I have 15 years of experience in the field as translator/editor from English to Italian and Italian proofreader. My mother tongue is Italian and I have lived for over 9 years in the United States and for 5 of these years I worked as a full-time in-house translator from English to Italian. In this period I honed my translator and CAT user skills to a very high level. I also have several years of experience as project manager, having run translation projects for over a dozen of languages for almost 3 years. Since 2007 I am a Freelance translator with hundreds upon hundreds of jobs completed and over 2 millions of words translated for a total of 15 years of experience in the field. I am a proficient user of TRADOS and Wordfast and I have completed a big project on SmartCAT so I can use it professionally too.

I started my career 21 years ago as in-house translator and PM at a translation agency based in Turin, Italy. After three years, I decided to take up the challenge and become a freelancer, in order to devote myself to those texts I was most interested in. My experience as PM gave me a deep insight into all aspects related to the translation process, thus I perfectly know and understand the needs and expectations of Project Managers whom I work with. I am able to work under pressure, and manage large volumes of work with no prejudice to quality. I am able to translate very technical texts, like instruction manuals for X-ray inspection systems, but also to use my creative side to produce translations of content marketing articles.

Bilingual Italian-German, I was defined a walking cat-tool by many colleagues. I speak English, German,Spanish, Portuguese,Dutch and of course Italian fluently, plus Arabic and French. What I adore most about languages, is that they allow you to define yourself in many ways and never miss a word to describe feelings and experiences. As Calvino said, without translation I would be limited to the borders of my country...

I love foreign languages since I was a child, I love traveling to get in touch with different cultures and to broad my horizon. Anywhere I go I always try to learn a few words in the local language to feel like part of local people. I love children’s books, watching TV series and walking in nature. I am an English to Italian translator

I’m a translator working from English, German and French into Italian. I graduated from the Advanced School for Interpreters and Translators in Florence where I got a University Diploma (1998) EN>IT - DE>IT. I began to work as foreign language expert and manager assistant for an international architect in Florence (1999-2002). After a couple of years, I joined a buying office (2002-2006 ) - dealing with the fashion industry, first as a translator, and then, as a production and logistics coordinator. I'm a freelance translator since 2007. I'm a TAUS certified Post Editor, Quality Manager and Transcreator. My fields of specialization are Marketing and Web Marketing, Media and Communication, Cryptocurrencies, Clothing and Healthcare. I also cooperate with a local web agency in charge of translating and localizing websites.

I am Romanian and Italian and I have studied English and Spanish at the University oy Pisa and University of Bologna. I have also lived, studied and worked abroad in 2009-2010 in Valencia with the Erasmus Programme at the University of Valencia.

After graduating in Specialized Translation from Italy's Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators, I spent several years working as a translator, interpreter, editor and language consultant for an NGO sponsoring medical and environmental research. I am now working as a freelance translator, editor, proofreader and language consultant. My clients include not-for-profit organizations, publishing houses and LSPs. I specialize in environmental issues, agriculture, agricultural technology, food & drink, medical texts and research (especially nutrition and endocrinology), botany, biology, cosmetics, and international organizations. I seek to broaden my horizons by working together with clients as prestigious and enthusiastic as my current clients.
