My name is Guido Ballarini, I have 15 years of experience in the field as translator/editor from English to Italian and Italian proofreader. My mother tongue is Italian and I have lived for over 9 years in the United States and for 5 of these years I worked as a full-time in-house translator from English to Italian. In this period I honed my translator and CAT user skills to a very high level. I also have several years of experience as project manager, having run translation projects for over a dozen of languages for almost 3 years. I am an Italian native graduated in foreign languages. I can translate from and into English, Italian, Spanish and French. In all my career as an employee I have been involved in translation projects. Since 2011 I started working as a freelance translator and interpreter. As an English to Italian ProZ.com Certified PRO Network gaming, technical, and marketing translator (EN 15038) and Italian native speaker, I have been translating on a volunteer basis since 2012 (working on big projects since 2016) and professionally since 2020. I am a freelance Software/Web Developer and English to Italian Translator. I have translated a wide range of different subjects, including fiction (mainly sci-fi novels), technical texts (mainly IT and electronics), marketing items, company policies and internal memos, websites, etc. I also have about 3 years experience in simultaneous interpretation (from English to Italian) in public events. I perfected my English while living in Florida (3 years) and in Denmark (1 year), and regularly doing translation jobs in addition to my main software/web developer job.
