Actually more of a hobbyist translator. As a hobby, I've translated over 1.000 pages of roleplaying games and videogames material. Maybe someone will want a passionate translator for their projects?

I am native Portuguese with excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling skills and I have almost as great skills in English. My brain is definitely bilingual. I have been a freelance Professional Translator since 2013, specializing in Business, Marketing and Social Sciences. However, I have also performed successful translations in many other different fields, such as website and app contents, legal contracts, technical manuals, automotive systems, coaching materials, among others. I am very detail and quality oriented. Before that, I was an Administrative Assistant for over 5 years. I translated some website articles as a volunteer (since 2010) and I worked for an import/export company where I was responsible for all external communications (English/Spanish). I also performed some translation work in one of the companies I worked in. I use SDL Trados 2011, but I always check my translations, sentence by sentence, for grammar, meaning and vocabulary use - no automatic translations! I am also very proficient in manual translations, which many clients demand in order to attain better quality.

I am a transparent, goal-oriented, and perfectionist professional with a positive perspective. I enjoy remote work and carefully follow instructions and I find it easy to work for long periods including during the night and maintain my attention to detail. That comes, of course, from having a genuine interest in Languages and Translation since I was a child and constant curiosity in researching different topics. I provide translation, retroversion, proofreading, transcription, and captioning services in general and specialized domains with appropriate technical resources. I would also like to add that I can handle deadlines just fine.

First, I would like to introduce myself very briefly. I am a 42-year old native Portuguese speaker, who grew, studied and, nowadays, works in Portugal (in the city with the famous hovering umbrella installation, by the way). I am a trained translator with a diploma in English and Portuguese languages and translation post-graduate studies. Before finishing university I decided to interrupt studies to work as an expatriate translator/interpreter in a construction project with a Portuguese company in Barbados. I have completed university after returning and never stopped doing what I really like: communicate between languages. My experience and skills are especially strong with medicine, IT/ICT, defence, business, marketing and legal translation, dealing with contracts, annual reports, corporate websites, bidding documents, business plans, brochures, presentations, written resolutions, and agreements, confidential emails, language assistance in meetings, also experience in diplomatic level. The total number of words over these 20 years exceeds 5,000,000 words, with companies and brand names such as Huawei, Unitel, IBM, Unilever, Suunto, Dell, Disney, Gesticer, Harley Davidson, to name a few. My name is Daniela Gomes and I have been a Portuguese freelance translator and subtitler (EN-PTpt) for four years. In 2015, I finished my BA in Applied Languages and concluded my MA in Translation and Multilingual Communication early 2018. I have been working for international companies from North America and Europe translating and subtitling movies, TV shows and series for several well-known studios. Hello! I am a Brazilian freelance translator/localizer (English/Portuguese-BR), proofreader and editor. My first translation job as a freelancer was in 2013 and I started working as a full-time freelance translator in 2017. In the last three years, I have been providing translating, subtitling, copywriting and proofreading services for several clients, such as TransPerfect Translations and Trivago. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication, a Specialization in Editorial Projects and a Master’s degree in Literary and Cultural Studies. I also hold a Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) certificate. I have a deep knowledge of Portuguese grammar.
