My name is Yuliya Pylypenko. My native languages are Russian and Ukrainian. I have a University Degree in Translation and Interpreting of English into Russian and Ukrainian. I have been working as a professional translator since 1999. I took part in EU Tacis project, World Bank project implemented in our region and DFID project of UK government implemented here in Ukraine. I worked as a full-time banking translator for 10 years and obtained valuable experience in translation of all kinds of financial statements and reports. I also translated various technical and engineering documents, contracts and agreements, bidding documents, content for the bank website, advertising, fashion and retail websites. I do not have a linguistic education, but in the process of my education, working as a lecturer, a researcher and an IT manager (up to CIO), I very often had to apply my knowledge of English for reading and translating English literature and documentation. Since 2017, translation has become the main activity for me. In this work I always try to achieve a meaningful result. Machine translation is mostly not used, although occasionally I resort to it, if the subject allows. I intensively use the CAT-system tools: translation memory, glossaries, concordance search. In the search for translations of terms I use all available means taking into account the context. I can aloso translate into another direction (English) but it's a torture for me because I'm not native in it.
