About me Growing up bilingual When I was 10-years-old, my family moved from Spain to Colorado, USA. I attended middle school there and all of my friends were American. After just 9 months no one could believe I was not born American. Learning a language this way is the most effective and efficient way to learn it. As a child, you just simply take everything in and while learning a new language, you are also learning a new culture and way of thinking. At age 13 I moved back to Spain. I was then able to cement my Spanish cultural roots. Then, when I was 15-years-old, we moved again, this time to Portugal. Here I was able to learn Portuguese at still an early age. After obtaining two University Degrees, in Law and Business Administration, and an MBA in International Business Management, I worked for several years as a lawyer, external auditor in PwC, financial controller and cost manager in several countries around the world. Throughout this time, I also worked as a freelance translator and reviser for a Law Firm for over 8 years. It then became clear to me that I was meant to be a translator and now I work as a full-time translator and reviser.

Native Spanish speaker, born in Colombia Wide experience in general translations, I perform human translations and proofread them with the help of online dictionaries and some existing resources we have available in modern language services industry, in order to maintain the flow, meaning, quality and accuracy of the original text. In my spare or leisure time I try to perform translations for NGOs and NPOs in order to contribute to building a better world for the dispossessed, displaced and underprivileged.

I am a qualified freelance sworn translator with more than 10 years of experience. I have a degree in Translation and Interpreting (Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), and I am currently completing an MA in Audiovisual Translation (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona) and another in Institutional Translation (Universidad de Alicante). I specialise in audiovisual, legal and marketing translation, as well as in video game localisation, and I am comfortable using a wide range of industry-standard CAT tools. My daily output is around 2,500-3,000 words.

I am a senior lawyer-linguist with 15 years of legal practice, a part-time professor with several years of experience teaching Spanish Philology at the Katowice University and an Economics graduate from the London School of Economics. Given that background, I specialize in legal, marketing and business-related texts. I translate and edit academic articles, newspaper articles, business documents, corporate policies and handbooks, contracts and other legal documents, books (fiction and nonfiction), catalogues, reports, brochures, flyers, websites, adverts and personal documents, and I have a particular interest in, and flair for, marketing copy.

I translate from English and French into Spanish (Spain variety) and I proofread Spanish texts. I have a B.A. Degree in English Studies and a B.A. Degree in Translation and Interpreting and I have worked as a translator, project manager and interpreter in the last years. I have experience in several fields, such as telecommunications, trade or tourism. However, I specially work with medical and pharmaceutical translations (safety data sheets, patient leaflets, clinical trials, internal reports of the pharmaceutical industry…) and every text related to India (culture, history, literature…) and yoga.
