I am a student of Translation and Interpreting Studies who works as a Turkish native freelance translator.

I started my career in the translation and localization field working as a vendor translator for SDL plc. when I was at Boğaziçi University. During that time, I completed several projects and gained experience mostly in technical translation (automotive and manufacturing). In 2017, I started my first full-time job as a translation project manager and carried out project management and quality assurance tasks for almost a year. In 2018, I was hired by a software company, JotForm, as a full-time English-Turkish translator. For 1.5 years, I translated a wide variety of content including JotForm's website, landing pages, products, inspirational blog posts, and mobile app into Turkish, which helped me gain immense experience in software localization and marketing fields, and knowledge in HTML language. I have recently decided to continue my career as a freelancer. I am currently working with several language service providers and providing high-quality translation and localization services.

My career history is shaped in 4 interrelated periods focused on communication based on mainly content creation, management, and execution in terms of marketing. Highlights of Qualifications: ● 12 years of in-house experience as an editor, transcreation ed., and copywriter in both conventional and digital media, and advertisement agencies. ● Working on localization and publishing projects as a reviewer, proofreader and editor since 2014. ● Specialized in the fields of corporate and brand communication, marketing, arts&culture, lifestyle ● Experienced in working for multinational PR and Advertising agencies and brands.

I have been doing freelance translations from German/English into Turkish since my college education. I have been providing professional translation, proofreading, editing, and transcription services for 6 years now. I am especially interested in projects around automotive, marketing, literature, and video games.

I am a native Turkish speaker and a certified translator/interpreter with over 10 years of experience in translation, interpreting and proofreading. I have studied and lived in English speaking countries for many years. I started working as a full-time sworn in-house translator in 2007 and worked continuously for the the same translation/localization agency for 10 years until March 2017. I have literally been involved in every aspect of translation and localization industry and had the chance to develop my skills and understanding in various fields of translation profession, notably technical, legal, business and marketing fields as a result of regular daily translation assignments (ranging from 2000 to 4000 words) over the last decade. I may not be a graduate of language and translation studies (my background includes Political Science and Sociology) but I firmly believe that what I lack in formal training I more than make up for with 10 years of daily on-the-job experience.
