I've been born to German-speaking Austrian parents but was raised in English-speaking Canada. Due to this fact and to the fact that I competed my Master's in Austria, I am fluent in both languages and am fond of translating from German into English. Since 2000, when I started my translator's career, I've managed to translate millions of words in a great range of fields, from fiction to medicine.

I am a very experienced German, Spanish and French-speaking translator, localiser, proof-reader and editor of written texts from a wide variety of areas from those languages into English. I also have some experience in translating from English into German. To expand my skills and knowledge, I lived in France, Germany, Poland and Spain for a total of approximately 7 years. Moreover, I am also an excellent communicator (spoken and written) and administrator, and work confidently, sociably and politely in teams and on my own initiative, while multitasking and keeping to schedules. Furthermore, I am very motivated, thorough, literate, numerate, diligent, organised and conscientious, have a good eye for detail and have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel and Word).

I've been freelance translating while completing my bachelors in Comparative Literature, alongside working on my own translation projects. I have a decent amount of experience translating poetry and other literary sources, which I believe have given me a lot of tools to translate any kind of text -- including marketing, scientific, and so forth. A brief bio: I was born in Belgium and moved to the United States when I was young, hence I was thrown early on into different languages. Today, I speak/read/write in English, Dutch/Flemish, German, French, and Italian. The exchange of information and ideas across linguistic and geographic borders greatly interests me, which is why, I believe, I enjoy translating texts so much.
