Originally from Almaty, Kazakhstan (Russian speaking), I have lived in the United States since 1996. I graduated high school in Midland, Texas, then received my first bachelors degree from Central Texas College, majoring in Computer Science. After several years, I went back to school to major in International Studies at the University of California in San Diego. Passionate for languages and cultural learning, I have lived and studied in Morelia, Mexico and Barcelona, Spain. I have worked as a freelance translator and localization expert since 2009 and have great knowledge in mobile game and app localization. Other projects throughout the years have included fiction, history and biography books, articles, and legal documents. I translate Russian to English myself and run a team of ten other translators, who work in most popular European and Asian languages. Every member of the team is a native speaker of the language he/she works in.

I was lucky enough to travel the world and live in many countries, finishing school in U.A.E. and later attending the university in Greece following a job contract in the USA. My knowledge of languages from the native perspective allows me to translate at top notch quality.

I've been born to German-speaking Austrian parents but was raised in English-speaking Canada. Due to this fact and to the fact that I competed my Master's in Austria, I am fluent in both languages and am fond of translating from German into English. Since 2000, when I started my translator's career, I've managed to translate millions of words in a great range of fields, from fiction to medicine.

I've worked for a few decades as a translator and storyteller for governmental and quasi-governmental agencies before moving on to being a freelance translator and copywriter. Hello! My name is Dr. April Stines and I am a seasoned Russian-English & German-English translator/proofreader. I've been working in the translation industry for many years. My specialization is in academic texts, legal documents and literature, but I cover many areas of translation: from blockchain to video games. A little about myself. I'm from the US, but now reside in Riga, Latvia and have a PhD in Slavic & East European Studies.

I taught English as a Foreign Language in St. Petersburg, Russia from 2006 to 2018. In my time there I translated Russian-English and edited a variety of texts including song lyrics, how to guides, business presentations, resumes, guided tours, website content and press blurbs.

I'm an English speaker with sufficient grasp of the Russian language, including for use in the technical sphere having completed my undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering with Russian language as the primary language of study. While I'm not a professionally trained and certified translator, I have been involved in various translation projects that do not require attestation, especially for technical documentations of products for markets outside CIS region.
