I have been working as a language specialist since 2000, initially working in ESL/EFL teaching and international test preparation before focusing on Spanish to English translation (legal, energy, water, wine, mining, among others). I have translated ever since my college graduation. I translate in the combinations Spanish-English, and German-English. I specialized in translating contracts, novels, certificates, certifications, wills, deeds, court sentences. Furthermore, I have translated for mining and drug companies. I work on projects concerning to drug information, medical reports, drug test results, leasing of mines, information about minerals, among others. Furthermore, I have translated novels, and poetry books. I love what I do. Currently, I am learning Portuguese and French in order to be able to translate from those languages to English.

I came a little late to translating... I spent a few years trying out different careers. I worked as a legal assistant, a bookkeeper, an office manager, an HR representative, even a restaurant manager... all before I found my calling. While I sometimes wish I had gotten into translation sooner, I'm thankful that I was able to experience such a wide variety of positions. It makes me a stronger translator, as I'm well versed in the vocabulary used in such widely different positions. Now, I'm able to put all of those various skills to use, helping others to communicate with the best, most natural translations possible.

I am currently studying an MA in translation studies on a part-time basis (2021-2023), having completed an undergraduate degree in European Studies with German and Spanish over the previous four years. Having worked as an intern in a translation and localization role in 2021, continuing as a freelancer afterwards, I have 6 months experience in translating a wide range of texts. I have a keen interest in travel and culture, having spent time abroad in both Germany and Spain during my degree.
