Hello! I am Naj, a certified professional translator by Malaysian Institute of Translation and Books since early 2018. Prior to that, I translated casually for colleague and friends. My strengths are in IT, legal, social science and marketing. Among successful projects were localization of websites and apps, translation of e-learning platforms, academic research papers, texts for e-commerce & Internet trading, legal documents, psychology and finance bulletins, certificate and waiver agreements, and business press releases. I mainly work with SDL Trados and Xliff, but can handle MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, HTML, CSS and XML files as well. Being born to 2 English language teachers and growing up in the rural heartlands of Malaysia offered me the unique opportunity of learning both Malay and English from birth. I subsequently won a government scholarship to read law in England. I was a partner in Malaysia’s largest law firm prior to my retirement. 20 years of legal experience gave me significant knowledge of the terminology used in the legal, governmental, economic, business and technology sectors, in both Malay and English languages.
