Having moved here to pursue a career in academia, I studied Geography at King's College; I am therefore familiar with scientific and technical terminology. For the past five years, however, I have worked as a civil servant in local government, focusing on grant making. Assessing a wide variety of applications for funding, I come across obscure and specific vocabulary from a range of fields, often requiring further research into the subject of the bid.
