I have lived in Norway, Austria and Slovakia for several years, worked on freelance basis as a teacher or translator. In my current work as public policy manager I often do translations related to law, politics and various sectors of economy, paying close attention to the detail and meaning.

I love translating, even in zeitnot situations

I started volunteering as a freelance interpreter back in 2013, and finally got some work experience 2 years later. I've been doing freelance and privately contracted work for about two and a half years now. I have an advanced level fluency in Slovak, though I speak Czech and Russian very well also. The languages I've worked with most are Slovak and Czech, but because I'm in Moscow, I'm doing a lot of Russian right now. I prefer translating from other languages into English, but I'm willing to work either way.

I've been in translations/linguistics since 1997, millions of words, vast experience, a great lot of fields, I've worked for Google, Airbnb, governments (local and states), just name it. I'm fond of languages. I can speak English (of course), French, Russian, some German, Norwegian, Chinese and even Ukrainian. I've studied Icelandic and am familiar with Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Faroese. Localization/CAT tools: starting from routine tasks such as bilingual files prep and post-processing and ending with deployment of custom-tailored translation memory servers using SVN or GIT technologies. Briefly, I love everything related to languages.

Because: - I have state exam from English language, - I lived and worked in the USA for 7 months, - Currently I am studying to become a professional translator (English->Slovak language), - My main occupation is at one of the German car manufactories, where I work as an IT project manager. That is the reason why my main specialization is focused on English language (and translation between English and Slovak), but I am able to translate from German language as well. Apart from IT and technical translations I enjoy translating marketing materials, articles and literature, especially short stories. In my free-time I teach Pilates, go hiking in beautiful Slovak mountains, do some baking at home, or read biography books.
